If you will be in Ghana this October, add a Black-controlled film gathering to your Accra calendar. The Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival runs October 16–18, 2026, at Ozone Cinema, Oyarifa Mall, with online participation for audiences beyond the venue.

Opening night will honour veteran Ghanaian filmmaker Nii Kwate Owoo with the Legacy Award and screen You Hide Me. It is an ideal entry point for newcomers who want to understand how cinema, cultural recovery, and Black self-definition meet in Ghana.
